He has significant experience managing Asian companies as a CEO, senior advisor and professional board member. Roberto graduated with a Masters degree in Engineering (Operative Research) from the Milano Politecnico University and was initially involved in the planning and coordination of major petrochemical projects. He moved to Singapore to lead the Far East Office of Riva e Mariani SpA a major Italian company specialized in cryogenic insulation for NLG plants. He also established and managed Dynamic Exim Pte Ltd a company providing engineering services in Singapore. As Centre Director in Italy for the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Roberto played a central role in attracting major new inward investment to Singapore. This experience equipped Roberto with a deep understanding of the relation between governments, funding organization and corporations. For 10 years Roberto was the Managing Partner of Hanna Instruments Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, a major distributor of scientific instruments based in Singapore with subsidiaries in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia. Roberto is presently the CEO of S.I.B. Consulting, a Singaporean professional services company that he founded in 1998. S.I.B. clients include leading companies in chemicals, construction, refrigeration, food, testing equipment and fabrics. Additionally, S.I.B. represents numerous non-profit and quasi-governmental organizations in Asia. In recognition of his contribution to promoting economic relations between Italy and Singapore, Roberto was knighted by the President of the Republic of Italy in 1995.
